The video clip is of a bird chirping to beat the band although you can't hear him because of the highway noise. The clip was taken from our bedroom window. The bird comes everday and stays for many hours.
JUNE 15, 2009 MONDAY

We indeed got skyped by Rebecca and Roxsan last night and it’s always good to talk to them and see our grandchildren. Mack is a busy little boy, climbing and getting into everything. Rebecca sure has aa lot patience and that’s a good thing. With Roxsan we talk over our rental problems and she lets us know what has happened and what’s coming down the pike. We got to talk to Brad a bit also, mostly about swine flu and how it’s affecting people. Last night Diana worked on some questions for tonight’s family home evening game which we were assigned to provide.

The first thing we started working on this morning was perfecting the questions for the “Mormon baseball” game we are making for tonight and decorating the cake for Elder Robert’s birthday party today. Diana worked on the cake while I did the computer work for the game. The game consists of gospel questions ranging from easy (1st base) to hard (home runs). The hardest part is to think up the questions and providing a reference for each answer. We took most of the questions from the Old Testament, but threw in some from the New testament. It took most of the day to do this with a break for the birthday party.

At 7:00 pm we were at Charlotte’s for FHE and the others that came included Hitch & Kathi Bold, Solange, Joerg & Irene Moeller-Russo, Helena Roffler, Erika, and Neide Graf. The other missionaries weren’t there tonight. Irene gave the lesson on how important our thoughts are in our progress and development. She discussed four steps we need to follow to progress. Using the scripture in the BM about just having a wish to know and then giving it room to grow was the first step. The second was to be thankful for what we have and to make sure we have a positive attitude. The third was to develop faith. The fourth was to ask and pray.

Next came our game. Everyone had fun in trying to answer the questions. Some got them right and, of course, some didn’t. When someone couldn’t answer, didn’t give the right answer, or we were challenged about the answer, we looked up the scripture and read it. It seemed to go on for a long time and we mentioned that if the game got boring, we could stop. All of them objected and wanted to continue to play. They said it was fun and they were learning something which is what we hoped would happen. They asked us to do it again another time because we hadn’t used up all the questions we had prepared. Things broke up around 9:15 and we came home. Charlotte insisted she escort us with an umbrella because it was raining again. She treats us like she were our grandmother and we are older than she is by a couple of years.

At one time a developer gave us an offer for a piece of property we own on 7th east in Draper, but his project fell through and so his offer for our property lapsed. There are three of us with adjoining property right there and a church wants to buy all three pieces. The developer is acting as the go between and he sent us an email the other day with an offer. In today’s market it’s not a bad deal and we are leaning towards selling, but need a few questions answered before we say yes. He’s on vacation for another week, and would like a response from us by then.
