FEBRUARY 19, 2009 THURSDAY

We received a call from Elder Pine this morning asking if they could come by and make copies of the email the Doyle’s sent us because they were meeting with some members tonight who are math teachers at Zurich University. Whenever the missionaries meet with the members, they are expected to provide a spiritual thought/lesson and they thought this would be perfect for the family. They also found a scripture that went along with it, but they didn’t have time to tell us so they said they would the next time they came over. We can hardly wait.

After they left we traveled to the Lochers to give Lily a birthday card/gift, but they weren’t home. We meant to call them tonight, but time slipped away so we’ll call them in the morning. Bernhard Roffler and Werner Buhlmann live in the area so we tried to make contact with them again. We have tried many times to contact them both, but have not as yet been successful. Today was no different. Following these attempts we took tram #9 to the University Hospital to visit Suwang Stefaniak. This time we were able to visit and she was awake and able to talk to us this time. She is still very weak and has a long recovery in head of her, but she is making progress. She said the doctors discovered they had prescribed too strong of medication which had adversely affected her. They adjusted the dosage and now she seems to be recovering again.

The last time we were here Diana gave her a copy of the picture Roxsan had posted on her blog of the man carrying so much stuff he was unable to hold onto the Iron Rod. She didn’t understand exactly what that was all about and she asked us first thing when she saw us what the Iron Rod was. Diana explained again and told her the story and she seemed glad to have that clear in her mind again. We visited for an hour and I gave her another blessing. She is such a sweet person and very appreciative of our visits. We’ll try and visit her every day for awhile because that seems to lift her spirits.

After the missionaries left our apartment and while we were traveling to the Lochers Elder Pine called me on the cell phone. They had stopped at the church for something and while they were at it, they found my Triple Combination in the foyer of the chapel. It was not there yesterday when I looked all over the church building for it. I’m just glad it’s there and I’ll pick it up tomorrow.

We're so happy that you found your German Triple combination. We're also glad someone got something out of our math email! Your missionaries seem so clever. You mention Migros a lot. Do you have Champion or Aligro? One of our senior couples says that Aligro has refried beans. We haven't been there yet. We do most of our shopping in France, where it's substantially cheaper. There's a constant stream of Swiss cars crossing the border to shop here.

Hooray!!! Dad's scriptures have returned. Can you email me the "math email"? How old is the hospital lady?
