FEBRUARY 13, 2009 FRIDAY
Last night we informed both our bishop and Pres. Bolt that Suwang Stefaniak was in the hospital. Pres. Bolt told us he’d like to go with us to visit her. This morning we expected Pres. Bolt to call us to make arrangements for him to go with us to visit Suwang in the hospital, but he never called. At 12:00 we decided to call him, but his wife said he was not home so we decided to go without him. No sooner did we get in to see Suwang when the doctor came in and asked us to leave while they did some tests or something. While we were waiting, her son and daughter came so we got to meet them. We asked them what the problem with their mother was and they said it was mostly an infection and inflammation of the lungs. There was also a problem with the glands in her throat which caused a hormonal imbalance that made her heart beat fast and her eyes to not work like they should. They are both pretty young, but seemed concerned about their mother. We invited them to the Valentine party. We didn’t have to wait too long and got to go back in and visit for awhile. She was still weak and couldn’t talk much so we didn’t stay long. We told her we’d be back in the evening.
We left and did some shopping for the valentine party tomorrow evening. We also stopped in another Asia Market and bought some more weird stuff to try. We didn’t realize the sweetened Star Berries and sweetened Mango had chili powder in them so that was a surprise. We also opened a can of Toddy Palm Seed and that was really good mixed in with the Swiss version of cottage cheese.
Before we went back to visit Suwang again we called Pres. Bolt. He had company so we went without him again. However, when we got to her room, the nurse said she was asleep so we left without waking her. When we got back, we stopped at home for a minute and Roxsan happened to pick that time to Skype us. She had some financial questions she wanted to talk over with us. Of course we talked of other things too, and that is always good. After that we went over to the church and helped Norma, Sister Weiss and the missionaries decorate the cultural hall for the dance tomorrow night. We were there until about 11:00 and then we came home. We’ll go back to finish in the morning.

Wow! the conf. with Elder Bednar sounded like it was great. To be able to ask questions and have him answer would be awesome. Did you learn anything new? You will have to write me an email and tell me. I am sure you are such a comfort to the lady in the hospital...even just to see a familiar, friendly face.
