The crow sign has something to do with illegal aliens eating up Switzerland's resources; M: Elders Pine, Evans, Ehlen and Middleton with Diana at the window; L: Elders Evans, Pine, Larson, Middleton and Ehlen at Einsiedeln.

JANUARY 29, 2009 THURSDAY

I woke up in the middle of the night with a queasy stomach and some nausea. I decided to get up and stay close to the restroom in case I needed a quick trip. It eventually came and then I was able to go back to bed. As the day progressed, the nausea went away and now I’m fine. Diana thinks it was the bratwurst I ate last night and wonders how I can still think of eating another. Little does she know.

We did our usual studying this morning, but this time it was with a specific purpose in mind. We need to prepare for the meeting with Kofi and Phylis this coming Saturday. We were also expecting phone calls from Elder Pine and Elder Ehlen to tell us about the impending transfers coming next week. The ones being transferred are notified today and the transfers take place next Thursday. Elder Pine is going to remain here, but he is going to be a Zone Leader with Elder Harris who is one of our current zone leaders stationed in Luzern. His companion, Elder Gunther, is being transferred out and we don’t know where. Elder Middleton is going to Germany and be companions with Elder Peterson who used to be here in our district. Elder Ehlen is tranferring to Altstetten as District Leader and Elder Jensen is coming in to replace him and will work with Elder Evans. We haven’t met Elder Jensen yet. Elder Norris is coming in as our district leader and will be companion to Elder Eschweiler. Sisters Walker and Wellborn will stay in Luzern. Elder Ehlen will be district leader in Altstetten which is the ward Sis. Vedani lives in so we know someone for sure will look after her.

Elder Middleton called to ask to use our computer to send emails to their families about the change of assignments/addresses. They came over about lunch time so we also fed them lunch (what else is new). When they left, we took off for Sister Campbell’s to take her a present for her new baby. But, as has been our fate, she wasn’t home or didn’t answer her doorbell. We left the card/gift and a couple of stuffed airplanes for her other daughters and left. On the way there we passed a store that Sis. Suwang told us about that was supposed to have good prices. We got off the bus at the right stop on the way back to check it out. The store did have some good prices, but we were so far away from home that we didn’t buy a lot because we didn’t want to carry it back during rush hour. We did get a few things though. We met Juerg in the store, Ilene’s husband, so we were able to get an update on her. She’s doing well and will be coming home in a couple of days. We asked him if we could bring in dinner on Saturday evening to which he gave an enthusiastic yes. He went his way and we went our way and ended up back home for the evening.

We got an email from Jim Stoll today and it was good to get an update from someone on Diana’s side of the family. Jim has faithfully written us since we’ve been here.

I am glad dad is feeling better. It must be going around here in Sandy too. These transfers should be fun. The incoming elders are in for a real treat when they meet you...free hair cuts, free meals, free computer time....LOVE IT! How is Aunt Nonnie? I have someone that wants her phone number (lazneiz).

I hope your nausea is gone for good! I agree with Roxy about the incoming Elders! When you come back home, you should come move in with me. In the basement. and pay rent. haha just kidding. I'll let you stay there for free. :) As long as Mack can stay with you. wink wink.

I'm in a funny mood. Sorry about this comment.
