DECEMBER 18, 2008 THURSDAY

Today the roads were very snowy, wet and slushy so it was difficult to get around. This morning we did our studying and etc. Elders Pine and Middleton called about 10:00 and asked if they could use our apartment as a port in the storm so to speak because their appointment wasn’t home and they had another in the area in a little while. Since we hadn’t planned on going out until shortly after noon, we had them come over. When they are here, they teach Diana German and I learn a little more about the computer. All the missionaries are whizzes at the computer.

This afternoon we finally found a less-active member we’ve been looking for for a long time. We happened to be on our way to try and meet with Johannes, the person we’d given a BM to at the rest home, when we noticed the house numbers on the street we were on were close to the house number of the less-active. We detoured and found the house, but when we rang the doorbell, he wasn’t home. We left him a Christmas card and an invitation to Sacrament meeting Sunday. Google Map had us looking on the wrong end of a very long street, right in the middle of Schwamendingerplatz. After that we went on our way to find Johannes. We went into the rest home and, when we inquired after Johannes, they told us he was on vacation until January 5th. We’ll put him in our planner to return, but hope he finds his way to the ward house. He’s the one a member told us he’d asked him what the address to the church was. So we’ll hope and pray. As always, I spent time translating and have just finished chapter 14 of 19 chapters. The end is in sight.

I can't believe you have translated 14 chapters already! It seems like you just started a few days ago.
