NOVEMBER 6, 2008 THURSDAY

One of the members we’ve been working with hasn’t been to church or FHE the last week and hasn’t answered phone calls from the Elders or us. Diana called her this morning and she answered the phone finally. She said she had been depressed and feeling lonely and so she just doesn’t go anywhere or want to talk to anyone. It seems that happens more to people over here than at home. If things don’t go right, they just shut down for some reason. Anyway, Diana tried to cheer her up and give her some tactics to get out or stay out of the doldrums, such as sing a favorite song or hymn. She said the missionaries were coming over to visit her today, so that’s good.

It has taken us awhile to decide how to make the maps and plot the addresses on them. Also, we haven’t done a good job indicating which members we were able to visit in a zip code and the ones we either couldn’t find or didn’t get to yet. So today we tried to get better organized which was a time consuming and somewhat tedious job. I hope we got it all straightened out because we don’t want to miss anyone. We also plotted out 5 or 6 zip codes that only had one or a few names in them. Late this afternoon we went back out to try and find two addresses we couldn’t find last time we were in that area and they eluded us again. We also went to another address, but the member wasn’t home. Now that we are ready with our maps, we should have a better day of finding tomorrow.

Tonight we followed up with phone calls to the ones who weren’t home. The only one we were able to contact was Dominic who said he was busy, but may have time for us sometime during the first two weeks of December. So we put that on our calendar for follow-up. So, all’s well that ends well. Good Night.

i want to see a picture of where you are living and what it looks like inside..so if you ever don't have something to do (hehe that won't ever happen) take a picture! it seems like a lot of people have "moved". with the depression thing, suggest taking a walk around the block, even if it's cold it will take their mind off of what is bothering them-and it's always nice to get some fresh air and sunshine (if the sun is out). love you!
